Great synopsis of Roman colonization of Britain. This applies to the entire series.
Love the series.
The story is okay though it would probably be better to start the series at the beginning so you have some background on the characters. The real problem for me were the frequent errors in punctuation and syntax. These were distracting enough to make the book unpleasant to read and I did not finish it. Edit this, please!
Another of Griff Hosker marvelous books about the struggle between the Celts and its red witch
and the Roman army in Britain and especially its horsemen unit.
You cannot stop reading it, the tension is so great, and the turns of the story is so sudden, that there is not a minute that you don't enjoy it.
Its two main characters The Celtic queen "The red witch" and the Roman commander Livious,
are outstanding figures.
As a fan of historical fiction, I've devoured all of Hosker's works. This series was difficult at first, with all the Roman names, but these characters have become like friends I look forward to each time I open the books. This one was very enjoyable.
quiete basic. no historical context. romans are the good guys..barbarians are that!!!litlle historical basis. not a cambridge or oxford guy..however, one can enjoy these repetitive stories...if you have nothing best to do. pasable.
Once again the Master Storyteller has woven a great tale mixed with many twist and turns. Griff Hosker never fails to deliver on hours of reading enjoyment
